about me
I'm a fully trained Monumental Stone Mason with 20 years experience of working with stone. I became a professional sculptor in 1989 widening my skills in wood, plastic, polystyrene, plaster, clay, mould making and even in compacted snow.
I was born and brought up in West London and spent most of my career working in Hillingdon, West London but in 2008 I moved to a new studio in Nottingham.
my work
I usually create my own pieces which I sell privately. But I also do commissions including garden features, memorials and decorative items.
I am proficient in direct carving - which means I can work without design or model or grid and point system. I prefer to use my imagination and work with the shape and texture of the stone itself.
My favourite stone is portland stone but I work in a variety of limestones, marbles and wood. Lately I've been trying out the local Ancaster stone
snow
In 2006 I took part in the International Snow Sculpture Championships in Breckenridge, Colorado winning the 'Artists Choice' award for Team GB.
